Alabama Power
Alabama Power is deeply committed to preserving the beauty, richness and diversity of
the state’s ecosystem. The company’s team of biologists and environmental scientists
contribute time and expertise daily to protect native wildlife and vegetation, including
bald eagle populations, the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker, the flattened musk
turtle and the longleaf pine, and collect data that enhances scientific knowledge of
Alabama’s natural heritage.
In addition, through initiatives like the Renew Our Rivers program, which Alabama
Power originated in 2000 and has become one of the largest river cleanups in the
nation, more than 13.5 million pounds of trash have been removed from Alabama
waterways.
As a proud corporate partner of Friends of Lake Eufaula, Alabama Power continues to
support environmental initiatives that improve the natural landscape of Alabama,
especially the vibrant ecosystem of Lake Eufaula. Together, we are committed to
protecting our natural resources for future generations, knowing that today’s
stewardship efforts are an investment in our common future.
