About Friends of Lake Eufaula
"Friends of Lake Eufaula" is a non-profit organization founded in 2009, dedicated to promoting, preserving, and educating people about the natural beauty and resources of Lake Eufaula, also known as the Walter F. George Reservoir. This stunning 45,000-acre lake is located on the Chattahoochee River, shared by Alabama and Georgia. Our organization is driven by values such as environmental stewardship, community engagement, education, and awareness, as well as conservation and preservation. Our mission is to provide a meaningful and influential voice to create awareness about the lake and its importance to the local community and environment. We aim to engage with individuals and organizations who share a passion for the lake and its conservation, working towards maintaining the ecological balance of the lake and ensuring its sustainable future. Operating from the location of Lake Eufaula, we strive to protect and educate interested parties about the many extraordinary aspects of the lake. Our organization is known for our strong community partnerships, extensive knowledge about the lake's ecosystem, dedicated volunteer base, and successful advocacy efforts. We are always looking for new members to join and support our cause. To become a member, interested individuals can fill out a membership form and send it to Friends of Lake Eufaula, PO Box 142, Eufaula, AL 36072 with the $35 annual membership fee.
